I am currently a Research Fellow in the Department of Sociology and Social Research at the University of Milan-Bicocca and an Adjunct Professor of “Conflict and Development” at LUISS Guido Carli in Rome.
My research focuses on collective violence, organized crime, and defense and national security policies, focusing on how armed forces adapt to the changing global security environment. I like escaping the boundaries of my sub-disciplines and explore political economy, technology policy, and organizational behavior.
I have been teaching and/or researching, among else, at the University of Florence, MIT Center for International Studies, Johns Hopkins University Bologna Center, Istituto di Scienze Militari Aeronautiche of the Italian Air Force, Istituto Italiano di Scienze Umane (SUM), Dickinson College, and at the Fondazione Bruno Kessler’s Research Project on International Politics and Conflict resolution (CeRPIC), working on research for NATO Allied Command Transformation.
