CURRICULUM

Mattia Colonnelli de Gasperis is a dual qualified lawyer in Italy and New York, acclaimed by Who’s Who Legal, The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers, as “A leading international mergers and acquisitions expert” and recommended as Top Tier Lawyer by The Legal 500 Europe, Middle East & Africa.

Awarded with several research scholarships and grants (such as those provided by the Fulbright Commission, the University of Rome La Sapienza, the Institute of International Education (IIE), the Italian Stock & Exchange Commission (CONSOB), the Lazio Region, the University of Trieste), he has performed research activities in Law, Economics, and Finance at various institutions and scientific research centers, including the Columbia University Law School (LL.M. – Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar), the Yale University Law School, the George Washington University, the University of Rome La Sapienza Law School (J.D. – maxima cum laude and publication of the thesis), the Italian Stock & Exchange Commission (CONSOB), the University of Trieste (Ph.D. – Research Associate), the Arturo Carlo Jemolo Istituto Regionale di Studi Giuridici del Lazio.

Mattia has been appointed by the Board of Columbia University as member of the Editorial Committee of Columbia Journal of European Law.

He is Deputy Chair of the American Bar Association (ABA) – Section of International Law and has been in charge of the ABA publications of books, articles, and studies related to cross-borders mergers and acquisitions and to European laws.

Member of academic and professional institutions and associations, he is the Italian partner of the World Bank and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The Board of the American Bar Foundation has called Mattia to serve as International Fellow.

Mattia Colonnelli de Gasperis è avvocato del Foro di Roma e del Foro di New York. Nominato da Who’s Who Legal, The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers, “A leading international mergers and acquisitions expert” e recommended as Top Tier Lawyer da The Legal 500 Europe, Middle East & Africa.

E’ Deputy Chair dell’American Bar Association (ABA) – Section of International Law, per la quale ha curato le pubblicazioni di libri, articoli e studi relativi alle fusioni e acquisizioni transfrontaliere e il diritto dell’Unione Europea.

Membro di istituzioni e associazioni accademiche e professionali, è partner italiano della Banca Mondiale e della Banca Internazionale per la Ricostruzione e lo Sviluppo. Il Board dell’American Bar Foundation ha nominato Mattia Colonnelli de Gasperis International Fellow.
